Everyone boards the C130 military transport plane.

The seats line the sides of the plane and its a good idea to bring a book for the flight because there aren't many windows. The mesh makes a comfortable seat back.

The C130 lands at Mc Murdo on skis 8 hours after leaving Christchurch, New Zealand. Mt Erubus is an active volcano in Mc Murdo on the coast of Antarctica. The next day a similar plane flies us to the Pole, a 3 hour flight.
