Today Flat Chris came to visit Lawrence Berkeley
National Laboratory. He spent the day learning about neutrino astronomy.
Below you can see Flat Chris with John Bear, Jodi Lamoureux and an optical
detector. John Bear and Jodi recently went to the South Pole to work on
the AMANDA detector. There are
more than 700 optical detectors burried a kilometer down in the South Pole
icecap that look at neutrinos as they pass through the earth.
Before going to the South Pole, John Bear had to study nuetrino astronomy. Here he is looking at AMANDA data. The cookies make studying a very pleasant activity.
